What is a Dojo?
At a Dojo, the participants, who we call Ninjas, learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, and games, and explore technology in a fun and creative way. Ninjas also meet like-minded peers, work on exciting team and individual projects, and learn valuable social and transferable skills for the future. No, prior coding experience is required.
How much does it cost to attend?
Attending a session is free of charge, however signup is necessary as space is limited. Register on our CoderDojo website to reserve your tickets and become a member of our community.
What should I bring to the event?
All children should bring a wifi connected laptop that is fully charged. It is important that they bring their computer charger.
Is an adult required to attend?
Yes, children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, who is required to remain on the premises for the duration of the session. You will be asked to help your child(ren) get set up and ready,
We are excited to launch Augusta's first CoderDojo! We are looking forward to bringing these creative and exciting projects to kids throughout our community.
Volunteers are vital to our Dojo. Dojos need general volunteers, technical and non-technical mentors for sessions. Not all mentors have to have technical skills; however, all mentors of young people should be there to encourage them to discover their own way forward.
