Specific dates TBD, and time ranges (2:00PM - 5:30PM Pacific Standard Time)
Compensation: $684

POSITION
The BGC Virtual Afterschool Club Facilitator (Remote) will coordinate and ensure project
objectives are met within their assigned BGC Virtual Afterschool Club Program. In this role, the
BGC Virtual Afterschool Club Facilitator will ensure that the BGC Virtual Afterschool Club
Instructors have materials and access to resources to fulfil project expectations. In this role, the
BGC Virtual Afterschool Club Facilitator must also be ready and available to serve as a Substitute
Instructor as needed (teaching 10-30 students in Grades 3 - 5, while creating and maintaining a
strong sisterhood culture). Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance
environment and demonstrate flexibility to last minute modifications (if necessary). The BGC
Virtual Afterschool Club Facilitator will advocate for a strong consistent club culture and maintain
effective communication with BGC Staff, BGC Team and onsite school representatives. Ideal
Candidates will have a background in project management, instructional education, engineering,
science, or technology for this role, but not required. The successful candidate will have direct
experience managing a team and teaching or coaching elementary, middle, or high school
students, with strong classroom management and community building skills. Ideal Candidates
will have experience programming in one or more coding languages (preferred but not required).
Must demonstrate capabilities using technology tools to facilitate and teach coding (Zoom,
PowerPoint, Google Drive, email etc.). Our BGC Virtual Afterschool Club Facilitator role will be a
contracted position based virtually working in conjunction with the BGC State Facilitator.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Track self-paced teacher/facilitator Professional Development (PD) progress for BGC

Team members

• Serve as support for BGC Virtual Club Instructors during club

• Track administrative statistics (attendance and evaluations, etc.)

• Facilitate learning around coding and programming to students through BGC curriculum

• Interact with youth and staff as a resource and STEAM Mentor

• Implement and maintain Brown Girls Code Club culture

• Participate and assist in implementation of Brown Girls Code evaluations

• Participate in BGC Club Kickoff and end of year demo day

• Other duties as noted in scope of work


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Teaching groups of elementary, middle, or high school students in formal or informal

setting (preferred)

• Coding experience preferred but not required

• Strong classroom management/relationship building skills

• Demonstrates ability to problem solve

• Exceptional facilitation, communication, and presentation skills

• Well-versed in restorative practices and conflict management

• Enthusiasm and skill working in youth development

• Integrity, maturity, credibility, and a demonstrated commitment to Brown Girls CODE's

mission

• Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Commitment to complete entire project in BGC Club

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment

• Clubs can meet one day each week or biweekly for 1 - 2 hours

• Must be willing to adhere to BGC Wellness Policy and Covid-19 onsite school

requirements [which includes being fully vaccinated and wearing N95 Masks when onsite]

• Zoom enthusiast

• BA/BS or higher in Computer Science or related technical field preferred but

professional experience is an acceptable substitute. College Applicants or Graduate

Students majoring in Early Childhood Education and/or STEAM related disciplines are

also encouraged to apply.


This position is a PAID contracted position.

gender and diversity gap in technology. Our programs equip underrepresented girls ages 7 - 18
with the skills and training needed to pursue 21st Century opportunities in Computer Science,
